Our People

We are a team of people who share a common passion. That is to see people and organisations grow and thrive. So here is our team of expert coaches and facilitators. We’d love to get to know you and your needs.

John Mawdsley

john-mawdsley.jpgWith over 20 years experience as a learning and development consultant, John has a strong passion to see people reach their potential. With experience in the private and not-for-profit sectors, John is able to draw upon a wide variety of learning in the human resources and sales and marketing fields both in New Zealand and internationally and apply this to your needs.

“I love the work that I do and consider it a privilege to be able to work with people in developing their skills and capability as leaders. It is a very rewarding thing to see a leader succeed in a new initiative or relationship and to have had a part to play in that.”

Paulette Berryman

Paulette is a highly experienced coach and facilitator who specialises in leadership development in our company. Her work with our clients consistently receives excellent evaluation and she is highly valued for her ability to understand people and their challenges, and help them see a way forward despite the obstacles.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive"  (Howard Thurman).

“I have found what makes me come alive:
It is the privilege of walking beside people whilst they seek to understand themselves, make life changes, gain new insights; to find value and meaning in life. To reach their full potential and explore what makes them come alive.”

john-hornblow.jpgWith over 30 years of experience as a leadership development expert, John brings both a pragmatic and a creative approach to his work with our clients to produce learning outcomes that move organisations forward towards their goals and aspirations.

With a wealth of experience in the education, local government, government and not-for-profit sectors, John is able to relate well to your particular challenges and needs.

" All of us want to make a difference through our work, yet change often comes so slowly.  Usually but not always, this is not achieved with a quick fix. So it is deeply satisfying to see organisational and personal transformation occur where I have had the privilege and responsibility to engage with people in their workplaces for sometimes over a decade."

Shona Munro

shona-munro.jpgShona is another of our highly experienced facilitation and coaching team and enjoys her work producing excellent outcomes for leaders who are working to build their capability. She has a PhD in leadership development and is particularly interested in workplace wellbeing and how people transfer their learning. Shona's knowledge of her chosen field is impressive and draws upon many years of experience in the sports, government and for-profit sectors.

"I have a great sense of privilege doing the work I do with Nexus.  In every single workshop that I lead, I learn from the participants as we challenge ourselves and each other to increase our skills and work towards leading with authenticity."

carol-mansfield.jpgCarol has over 30 years experience in administration, finance, marketing and event planning within the retail, medical, defence, wine, and training sectors. Our clients often comment on the seamless service that she provides in administering our course programmes.

“I enjoy the variety that my role provides, often managing a number of simultaneous projects. Ultimately I have a passion for supporting people, assisting the course facilitators and directors to successfully deliver their programmes and activities."
